Why it matters
Your registrar may still delete the domain inside this window if the renewal isn’t paid.
When you’d see it
Many registries renew a domain automatically when it reaches its expiry date and give the registrar a window to undo it. If your card at the registrar failed, the registrar may delete the domain inside this window, so check your account.
How it shows up in a lookup
In a gTLD WHOIS lookup it appears as “Domain Status: autoRenewPeriod https://icann.org/epp#autoRenewPeriod”; RDAP shows it as “auto renew period”. It is managed by the registry as a result of an operation (RFC 3915 §3), not a setting you or your registrar toggle directly.
What to do
Make sure the renewal is paid at your registrar. If you don’t want the domain, tell your registrar now.
